The Living Room Tour 2010: Solo Connor Performances

Posted on: 4 January 2010

Connor has been performing intimate singer/songwriter house parties with other really talented singer/songwriters… some weeks with Heather Lutrell (Atl GA), some weeks with Chris Porter (Birmingham AL), and some with Andy Zipf (DC).  Here’s the overview: Connor and one other singer/songwriter perform in different music fans’ homes who have enough space and enough friends to make this work.  They bring in the first singer (one of the ones mentioned earlier) to play 30-40 minutes, then a 15-20 minute intermission, followed by Connor playing for 45-60 minutes. This is done without amps or microphones – just a singer and his or her guitar.  If a piano is available, it might be used for a few tunes. But for obvious reasons, they’re not traveling with one.  They’re always willing to play longer if everyone is interested and still paying attention.  Here’s the pitch: The requirements are that you have to be able to find between 35-50 friends who are willing to A) sit down, listen and not chat through the artists sets an B) throw in about $10 each to keep both artists fed, pay for gas and a hotels, and each be able to send a little money home for the bills. $350-500 is enough to make it work. Since it’s a house party it’s usually BYOB, and all together it’s usually cheaper for each person than a night at a bar – and a whole lot more intimate and fun!  The response so far has just blown us away, and we can’t wait to do more! Please let us know if you’re interested in supporting a special event like this by emailing Ken@VintageEarthMusic.com.
